66 Oak St., CA 34201,
February 15, 2018
Dr. Johan Duke,
Rocky Hill Public Schools,
77 School Avenue,
Dometown, CA 66301
Dear Dr. Duke,
In my 15 years as a High School teacher, I have always stuck to maximization of performance per student, motivating students to embrace mathematics and languages (English and Spanish) and instilling a sense of direction and self-confidence in each of them. Among others, these have been clear highlights in my long career as a teacher as indicated in the enclosed curriculum vitae.
That's why the teaching position you have advertised for a high school mathematics and language teacher in the district has drawn my interest. Rock Hill Public Schools have a unique reputation for individualized learning programs, stress on STEM and academic excellence. It will be a pleasure to apply my teaching abilities to serve students and a district with one of the highest education standards across the country.
Apart from 15 years teaching experience in high schools across California, I have a Bachelor's degree in education with a bias in Mathematics, English and Spanish including a Masters in Curriculum Development. I also hold a professional educator license for the State of California.
In my recent teaching positions, I was a part of the task force for education reviewing the STEM curriculum for the state to align it with changes in technology and innovation. As a curriculum development specialist I was able to create effective lesson plans, classroom management programs and structured student evaluations that saw an increase in mathematics and languages in my classes by 70 percent. I am also enthusiastic about volunteering and recently helped the California school for the Deaf craft a unique individualized curriculum perfect for deaf teens. The individualized curriculum program is so effective it has been shared with over three states.
My tenure in Groveball Public Schools came to an end last month. Rather than renew it I believe a new district and challenging position in Rock Hill Public Schools is the perfect opportunity to showcase my abilities and help more students improve their mathematics and language abilities in preparation for life after school and college. I will be in touch next Wednesday to discuss the opportunity. Feel free to contact me through my email or cell phone.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Tips for Writing a Teacher Cover Letter
Cover letter examples for teachers are perfect aids in crafting your letter. The samples indicate the elements to include such as action words, paragraphs in the body and introduction. Note the imperatives such as your name, contact information, addressee's name, and date among others.
Stress your accomplishments. Emphasize selected accomplishments as a teacher in previous employment. Did your students improve their STEM scores? Include that.
You must mention certifications and training. Most teaching opportunities have unique certification and training needs. In your teacher cover letter mention them to demonstrate you're perfect for the job.
Mention your involvement with students beyond the classroom. To rise above competition for the same job mention your volunteer experience and non-teaching duties working with pupils or children in the cover letter. This is especially perfect for those with little experience in teaching.
Individualize teaching cover letters. Each teaching position you apply for is unique. Customize your resume and cover letter to meet the needs of that specific school after researching about it. Don't rush it. Rather than treat your teacher cover letter as a reconsideration and wonder why you're not being invited to any interview, take your time. Revise, edit and proofread the cover letter, avoid typos and rectify grammatical errors.
In the teacher resume cover letter, let your teaching passion shine through including your dedication to children and the profession.
Describe your teaching accomplishments and qualifications colorfully giving specific reasons the position is perfect for you.
Ensure all your cover letters have been signed individually (hard copy letters).
Do research on the person to address the letter rather than use an amorphous 'Dear Madam/Sir' or 'To Whom It May Concern'.
Wherever possible, keep the cover letter as short as you can with a minimum of three paragraphs.
Never lie in the letter or anywhere else. Depict the true picture of your skills and experience in a positive light.
For new teachers where experience hasn't been gained, education and training background can be mentioned in a way that it relates to the applied teaching position.
Where you're not sure to use examples of cover letters for teachers to write the best cover letter that will draw the attention of the hiring manager.
