Reading a book in just one day, or in one breath is not always an option. To be fair, reading a book in one breath is almost impossible. Nobody has as much free time. Reading a document is the same. That is why people have always used bookmarks to hold the page, and return at a later date. This is similar to bookmarking a page to save a link and return at a later date. Or bookmarking a paragraph in Word. And in the past several years, decorative bookmarks have taken over. A bookmark template in Word allows you to create your very own unique bookmark.
Make Bookmark Template in Word
There are a number of websites you can find through a quick Google search where you can create your own, one of a kind and original bookmark. Download the bookmark template from any of these websites, and then use your own creativity to get started. You can customize and design the bookmark templates anyway you like.
And once you create the bookmark template, you can easily send the template to your friends and family. They can use your template as well.
Another option is to use Microsoft® Word to design your own bookmark template. Here is a step by step guide how to do it.
- Go to the "Insert" menu in the toolbar, and then click on "Text Box". Click the drop down menu, and click on "Draw Text Box".
- Drag the corner of the box until you reach the desired dimensions. Just for info, standard bookmarks are 2 inches wide and between 6 and 8 inches tall.
- Click outside of the box to deselect it. Repeat the first two steps to create a second text box for an additional bookmark.
- Insert text, borders, and pictures inside each text box to decorate your bookmark.
- Click "File > Save As" to save your template. Select "Word Template" in the drop down box. Saving this way will allow you to save the template with the distinct boxes set up for bookmarks. Word will save your document in the folder "\Application data\Microsoft\Templates" folder. This is the only way you can open the bookmark for later use from the Templates dialog box.
