A Step-by-Step Guide on How to Start Page Number on Page 3

Step 1. Upload PDF File

If you have downloaded and successfully installed PDFelement, simply tap the icon to launch it. Now go to the bottom left of this primary window and click the “Open files” button. This will lead you to the file explorer window where you are supposed to choose the PDF file you want to start page number on page 3. After choosing the file, click the “Open” button to upload the file to PDFelement’s interface. You can also use the drag and drop method toad your PDF file to PDFelement.

Step 2. Organize PDF Page

Step 3. Change Page Numbers in PDF

From the PDF organize options above, click the “Page Labels” button. Now, you should see the “Page Labels” dialogue box displayed in the background. Here, you are supposed to customize your page labels/numbering. Under the “Page Range” section of this dialogue box, click the “Selected Pages” icon. This way, the program will apply page numbering to your selected pages beginning from where you choose to start.

Step 4. Start Page Number on Page 3

Once you are done choosing the pages you want to apply the page numbering, go to the “Page Numbering” section. In this section, you are given two options to number your pages. Click the “Begin new section” and ignore the other option. Within the “Style” field, provide your desired page numbering style. Use commas to separate the numbers. E.g., 1, 2, 3, or I, II, III, and so forth. You can also add a prefix to your numbering within the prefix field. However, it is not mandatory. Now that you want to start page numbering on page 3 enter the number 3 in the “Start” field. Click “Apply” to confirm your selections and allow the program to add page numbers starting from page 3.

Step 5. Save PDF File

When the page numbers starting from page 3 are added to your PDF file, the remaining bit is to save these changes that you have made to your file. Just go to the top left of this window and click the “Save” icon. Alternatively, you can go to "File" > "Save/Save As" then save your file.
